Good luck with getting an appointment - if you explain your diabetic they might be able to fit you in sooner or offer you a cancellation if one comes up.

Only an optician who can see you (as opposed to anyone optician or otherwise who reads your symptoms) can tell you if there is a problem. For all we know you may have dirty glasses so see dark spots and then when you take the glasses off all is muzzy. I am quite sure thats not the case but you see where I am going with this..

Yeah, steffie i agree, i have horrible floaters myself but they've been there for ages and ages and but they scare me sometimes. Does your hospital have an Eye Casualty? Ours does but it's a bit of a long way for you to come. I expect it's nothing but i'm sure a professional opinion would put your mind at ease.

I have suffered with floaters before I was diagnosed it seem to happen when I had been working to long on my laptop at work................I use to nip to the loo and shut my eyes for 10 mins and that seemed to sort them out.

Hope the optician puts your mind at rest real soon.

Hi guys,

Just a little update got appointment for Friday @ 11.05 free of charge but need to bring details of GP and my exemption card.

The lady made me laugh she said are you capable of tackling 1 flight of stairs 😛

Hi Steff,
Blooming cheek, the great British media are to blame for "labelling" us all as fat, lazy slobs who brought this all on themselves! Don't get me started!!

Don't panic, it sounds like floaters, I get them all the time and, like Sheilagh, they are usually worse when I'm tired and invariably been sitting at my laptop for too long.

If it's any consolation, I recently got a thorough eye test by an eye doctor and my eyes were absolutely fine.

Best to keep an eye on things though...Oh dear, sorry about the pun!!
