Reckon they will charge me owt Tez?

Thank you 🙂

They sound like 'floaters' Steff (no, not THAT kind! 😉) I think the optician would be a the first port of call just to make sure - if they are just floaters then there's nothing to worry about. Not sure if there would be a charge for checking something like this, you could ask first I suppose.

They could just be floaters which aren't harmful or pending done, most people get them I've had then since childhood...

They like little specks of dust in your field of vision, little bits of debri that adsorb backing into the viscose gel of the eye..

If it's a bleed these tend to really block the vision, small bleeds tend not to be noticable but adsorb back into the viscous gel of the eye..

If you are worried yes get them checked out always best to put mind at ease, your opitician is probably better has they have the correct kit, GP can only detect so much when it comes to eyes..

!

If you are one of their customers then I would say no.

I went once with a problem and got looked at and some free advice to take a certain kind of eye drops.

I get floaters in my eyes. If I remember right it is just protein which usually settles in the bottom of the eye. Mine look like little clouds.

But get it checked out to make sure misses x

Hi Steff I get them too, they are called Floaters, the black spots appear to float about infront of your eyes. It's not serious, but a check with your Optician would put your mind at rest.
If anyone gets flashing lights with Floaters or the Floaters are increasing more/always there, then definately go to see Doctor straight away. Sheena x

Ok

Thanks all I will look into it, not open today so may have to wait till Thursday, but I will ring tomorrow and ask if they charge,I am a custumer yeah.

Hi Steff When you phone the optician explain what the problem is, why you are worried and that you are diabetic......that will give you more chance of getting a free appointment. I hope that it all goes well for you Amanda x

sounds like the onset of cataracts, I had two operations to cure this in 2009 & I have never looked back steff, your optician will tell you more

Oh great, no one mentioned cateracts 😡

Aw Steff,

try not to worry hun, (I know easier said than done) they sound like floaters, but to make sure, go to see ur optician an set your mind at rest, take care,

Lv Shirl

I would discount cataracts unless you've got a professional opinion to say it is. Floaters are nomal and most people seem to have them, so I wouldn't worry beyond that.

I'm always seeing spots and blotches, especially when I come inside from bright sunshine. Not a problem today though. 🙄

Rob

Thanks Shirl and Rob
I was kind of wondering if Clarkey was an optician or someone qualified to say i had cateracts.

Hi Steff please don't worry I'm not medically qualified but your symptoms do not sound to me like cataracts. I did have cataracts developing for many years without them affecting my vision so I think if you had them an optician would have noticed at one of your past appointments. If you are really worried, which I can understand, please go to eye casualty - particularly if your sight or the symptoms change in any way at all. Big hugs x

I've got early cataracts too and I don't get those symptoms. They do sound like floaters to me but best to get it checked out.

Problems with eyes

Sounds like a bleed to me (i,ve had a few from blood vessles from back of eye) and you should seek advice sooner the better. Dont pannic but you may need laser treatment whitch sounds bad but i go to eye infirmary and people there are excellent. 20 mins of disscomfort and sorted. Good luck 🙂

It certainly won't be cataracts Steff and more likely to be floaters or possibly a small bleed in the back of the eye, have someone check your eyes first thing tomorrow.

Thank you all Toby I will ring tomorrow @ 9,but wont be able to go in till Thursday or evening time after 5 so shall see what time there open till x

Amanda thank you and also Kate
