A JEWELLERY importer who was losing her sight due to diabetes has told of how she can see diamonds again after her vision was saved by a new treatment.
Elizabeth Lumley Holmes, 67, of Warthill, near York, suffers from diabetic retinopathy ? the most common cause of blindness in working age people in England ? and had been suffering increasingly blurry vision.
Ms Holmes, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 1998, said: ?I go for regular appointments with my optician and last April he told me that my condition was deteriorating.
