Eeek - first time I'll have seen an eye doc since May.... think it's actually the consultant tomorrow too... They said they might do another ultrasound, which would be interesting, as something went 'pop' a couple of weeks ago & it's been bleeding quite badly, so it'll be interesting to see what that scarring is doing now (well, to hear what they think rather than see it lol...) Hopefully might get some idea re timescales for op or something, fingers crossed! Hope they do something soon - little man has just started school (bless!! 🙂) & it's a bit stressful worrying that I am inadvertently 'blanking' anyone (ie scary new mums!) on my left side as I just can't see brilliantly that way (apparently I did this at a bbq a cple of weeks ago when the bleed had just kicked off, doh 😱) Any-hoo, guess things are moving one way or another...

Twitchy hope it all goes ok tomorrow good luck x

hope your lad enjoys his school hun x

I've got everything crossed for you Twitchy - even those things that lesser men might deem impossible! 😉 Hoping all goes well for you 🙂

Fingers crossed Twitchy! Hope you get some good news from the appointment.

And hope your LO copes with school OK - Friday is DD's first day, we had a home visit from her teacher today :D

Hope all goes well for you.

being anti social at the best of times not being able to see properly would be all the excuse I need to ignore the people I don't like...

Hi Twitchy

Hope everything goes well.

I was going well there with my eyes for a while, not a single bleed in 9 months. However, I got a really bad chest infection and coughed none stop for a few days. This triggered a nasty bleed and the opthalmologist said that I must have been coughing really badly to trigger a bleed as he felt the blood vessells were pretty much inactive!!

I hope you get given a date for your eye op at the appointment.

Good luck

Claire

Hi Twitchy

I've only just seen this. So sorry to hear that you've had another bleed. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that it all goes well for you today at the hospital appointment. Look forward to hearing from you as to how it went. Lots of hugs Amanda x

Yay - on the waiting list!!

Hurrrah! Saw the eye doc yesterday...interesting, he had a look & made a comment to the effect that the previous hospital "should have been able to spot that!" as it's a big bit of scar tissue & the snagged vessel is obvious! 😱 Trying not to think about how much extra laser I have unnecessarily had!! 😡 Hey ho, onwards & upwards... the good news is he said it should be easily fixable, like we thought it's a victretomy which will be done under a general anesthetic (phew!)...jelly out, vessel/scar snipped & end of vessel cauterised, maybe a gas bubble in if there's any retinal detachment, which will mean no flying for 3 months...sod's law that we have booked a holiday for Jan (saved for 5 yrs lol) that would involve flying...so for once I'm hoping the list is long enough to not mess that up hehe! He did say 2-6 months, but he'd try & expedite it given that the eye is bleeding more or less constantly (it's just a case of how much day to day)... there is a risk of bleeding post op, but it should just be one bleed that clears rather than the dripping tap I have now, so worth it! So hurrah, progress!!

ps - Northerner - the mind boggles hehe!! :D

Great to hear you had such a positive appointment Twitchy 🙂 Hope everything falls into place and you can get things sorted AND take that much-needed holiday! 🙂

p.s. I've uncrossed it now, I kept getting cramp 😉 😱

Yay! Glad you've had some good news :D and I hope the op comes through asap - fwiw I think for both of mine I had to wait about 6-8 weeks.

Hi Twitchy

I am so very pleased that the appointment went so well for you and that everything was very carefully explained x
