Have just found this site - amazed at the helpful info. discovered 🙂 Diagnosed T2 a year ago - struggling to stay on tablets as really nervous about injecting insulin. Diabetes compounded by Crohn's disease, so diet is really a problem - any advice would be welcome

Hi Lesley, welcome to the forum 🙂 Have a browse of our 'Useful Links' thread for some good reading material that might give you some ideas to improve your control and delay the insulin prospect a little 🙂 Do you monitor your blood sugars? What tablets are you on?

If you have any questions or concerns, please do let us know - you can be sure of a swift response! 🙂 I look forward to hearing more from you 🙂

Hi Lesley, welcome to the forum. Its highly likely someone on here will have the same problems as yourself and can help, however there is a lot of support here to help in many ways.

Welcome to the forums Lesley 🙂

1. don't be afraid of insulin jabs. They are unlike any other injection you have ever had or any other you will ever have. That is because they are utterly and completely pain free! I've had quite a number since 1972 and I tell it like it is. NB if you work yourself up into a state and you skin is clammy - then they will must likely hurt - any damp skin eg after a shower - will cause the same problem. So - Keep Calm and Carry On !

2. what things are contra-indicated fro Crohn's? I know it's a bowel prob but no idea what the dietary advice for it is. Is it one where you have to eat shedloads of fibre or one where you have to avoid it? What about fruit and veg? Fats? Protein? Carbs? etc.

Just thinking you may be under - or have been given - the erroneous advice that you simply MUST have to eat shedloads of carbs re the diabetes, but in fact you don't.

So if you could give us some info re the first one, we can fill you in on the second!
