Student Gavin Griffiths ran 43 miles in a gruelling challenge to raise money for diabetes awareness.
The 20-year-old, of Luddesdon Road, Erith, took on the course from Hastings Pier to Brighton Pier in Sussex to support Diabetes Research UK.
He suffers from type 1 diabetes which made the challenge last Saturday (14) especially difficult.
?It was an extremely long day running but fortunately I had good support from close family members and friends,? he said.
?Being a diabetic myself meant that I had to keep monitoring my blood sugar levels.
?I had to eat a lot of carbohydrates to sustain my levels which weighed heavily on my stomach and helped make me ill.?
