I was wondering if anyone has experienced both a diabetic hypo and an epileptic seizure?
Last year i experienced what i initially thought were epileptic seizures and after discussions with my neurologist it was decided they were non epileptic. These happened before i was diagnosed with diabetes. All the seizures i have had this year have definitely been epileptic.
The seizures that i experienced last year went like this....
numbness in the arms, gasping for breath, panic attacks, cold legs but the rest of me was roasting. Head felt tingling, dizzy, confused. I felt like every heater in the house was on full blast! even though it was winter at the time! My arms jerked and my legs also. It all lasted for a few seconds, but it took me several minutes to recover as i was breathing very fast.
A few minutes after the attack i was able to walk to the bathroom.
My GP just referred me to my epilepsy nurse and neurologist. Last year i described the seizure to the nurse, but i said to her that i thought it was epileptic, but couldn't be sure.
The problem is that so many symptoms of both types of seizure overlap and are similar.
I'm just curious to know what other people's experiences of epileptic and diabetic seizures are..............
