Electric scooters set to be made legal

Great invention no doubt, had non electric one as child & loved it. Just in some places there's idiots who ride them irresponsibly nearly knocking you off your feet, had few close encounters.

The trouble with those scooters is that 15mph limit. That’s fine for the roads (as long as they’re fitted with lights and reflectors) but the use of them on pavements. My road going nobility’s scooter is limited to 8mph on the road and 4mph on pavement. I very rarely use it on the pavement except for parking up by a shop. If I went more than 4mph on the scooter I would be arrested if it were on the pavement. I don’t use at that speed on the pavement, it’s a heavy machine, I just creep along.

But then I’m a considerate and careful driver, fully taxed and insured. That’s more than can be said about most e-scooter riders. And I use the pavement when there a roadworks taking the road down to one lane because I know I would cause a hold up with that 8mph limit. Mind you, that bugs the drivers who are stuck behind red lights.

Can you imagine that e-scooter riders behave like I do?
