If you have a snack inbetween meals, how long do you wait? is it normally 2 hours? ie if i want to eat a piece of fruit mid-morning or mid-afternoon, is it best to wait 2 hours? what would you do?

I was told to really spread my fruit out and not to go mad with it.
I was quite surprised at how much sugar is in fruit - i used to eat bucket loads before diagnosed! much better to have some though, rather than choc bar e,g

Hi every day i have my brekkie round about 8 and i will always have either a apple or banana at 10 then a slice of nutty bread around 12.SO yeah i always use 2 hours .

I think that wallycorker's approach is quite a good one, if you don't want to eat too much fruit in one go. A little bit and often may be a reasonable approach if you find that it spikes you too much.

Personally, though, I just have a banana with my porridge for breakfast. Two clementines after lunch and an apple (or sometimes two) after my main meal.

That seems to work fine for me.

Andy 🙂

thanks for that everyone, it's just that because i have limited test strips to use i have to choose my times to test (i do vary the times) and i can't afford to keep testing after everything i eat but if i safely wait a couple of hours between meals then at least i'm not keeping my levels constantly high by eating if you see what i mean 🙂
