DVLA Medical Licence revoked due to no fault of my own.

Anyone else had issues with DVLA Medical License?

I sent off my paperwork with driving license as requested by DVLA on the 07th August to receive a “You must not drive” letter and be told My license has been revoked due to not receiving correct paperwork on 2nd of September.
I rang DVLA and she said oh your license should be with me soon and due to high demand that letter was automatically sent and they did receive my paperwork, which was signed for on 10th August by the DVLA.

I currently have no permission to drive on DVLA website and have currently lost 3 days work due to being unable to commute and DVLA have just said keep checking their website until my license shows as allowed to drive again!
 
I suggest you e-mail your MP ASAP asking for assistance to get this cleared. It would seem to be the best way to get the DVLA to deal with anything.
 
Unless your GP has advised you not to drive, you do have a legal entitlement to drive, so get back to work. You have done the right thing in sending your application, and they have acknowledged receipt and said your licence will be with you soon. If for any reason you are stopped by the police, what you can’t be accused of is driving without a licence when the DVLA have it. Don’t get caught by any speed cameras, because that will slow things down while the DVLA stick the points on.

Your MP wouldn’t be able to get any work done if everyone who had a complaint about the dilatory DVLA emailed him/her.

As I’ve said before, it’s not the DVLA’s fault, their staffing levels have been slashed by government cuts since 2010, during which time the demand for their services has increased. Just like the police, the NHS, and every other public service.
 
Agree. Unfortunately if the DVLA have put a do not drive on my license and I’m stopped by police - I would be breaking the law and face charges for driving without a valid driving license. Appretiate your reply although that would definitely cause my more issues should I be stopped by police
 
What an unfair situation! Could you not ring them again. If the dvla are in agreement that this is due to high demand and backlog their end, and that you are ok to drive because all paperwork is in place. Could they send you an email confirming this just in case you were stopped? I’m sure in that instance even if the police wouldn’t accept the letter they could call them and this could be reiterated to them. Or would it still be classed an an offence? Anyways good luck
 
Inclined to disagree with you over e-mailing your MP, @mikeyB. The MP will never see it. One of his gofers will ring their contact in DVLA who will check a few boxes on a computer screen to sort it. Makes even the most useless MP look good.
 
Sorry to hear your situation @AlfieMDean - must be so frustrating for you :(

If they have acknowledged that they have received the paperwork, you would hope that they’d be able to allow you to drive under Section 88 while your case is reviewed.

It might be worth speaking to your GP to get their explicit approval so that you have that in hand.

The DVLA do seem to be struggling to keep up at the moment :(
