JDRF, the type 1 diabetes charity, is delighted to announce that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall has agreed to become its President.

Her Royal Highness recently visited a clinical research facility in Cambridge to learn about JDRF funded research to find the cure for
type 1 diabetes. The Duchess also took the opportunity to spend time with young people who have type 1 diabetes and learn how they live with the condition.

Wish they hadn't dragged out that statistic about lowering lifespan by 20 years - surely that is highly inaccurate, especially if people take some care to look after themselves? Plus, it can't possibly be based on modern regimes and technology, like pumps, meters and pens, and new insulins that have only been readily available for about 20 years anyway.

LOL, I expect most people would be reasonably accepting of dying in their early 80's, do you think? A bonus if we get longer?

In which case, had I best say Tarrah now?
