Im away to see the DSN tomorrow i even got a phone call Friday night at 7.30 asking me if i had remembered i was seeing the diabetic nurse and to see if i was still turning up 🙂confused::confused:) anyway im hoping and praying that i get the byetta but if im honest im not holding my breathe at all but you never know i may get lucky.Anyway i was just wondering if i should mention to her my dizzy spells and my mood swings or should i leave that to the GP visit.

Thanks in advance
Steff.

Snap! I'm off for my first appointment with the DSN tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to tell her about the dizzy spells I've been having most days, and the gastric upsets and the hypos, and anything else I can think of, including the fact that I had one last night and fell over. I'm not hurt thank heavens, just scared, I knew I was going down and couldn't do a thing to stop it. I was up again after a few seconds and feel fine now. I have a little list of symptoms I'm printing off, along with my BGL graph and the relevant portion of the NICE guidelines on testing

I reckon you should tell yours everything too. Hope it goes well.

Good luck to you both - and YES tell them all about your dizzy spells etc - Alison - sorry to hear you fell over - i hope your feeling better today. Let us know how things go tomorrow girls! Steph i hope you get the byetta.🙂Bev

ty gals sorry to hear of your fall alison pleased you were not hurt , good luck with yours too x

I'm no expert but I'd say yes to always mentioning anything you've experienced healthwise. You might think it could be irrelevant, but where's the harm?

Sorry to hear you've both been suffering from dizzy spells, and that you had a fall Alison.

Hope your appointments go well tomorrow.

xx

Hey Steff

Good luck for your appointme tomorrow.

I really do think you should mention the mood swings and dizzy spells, all very relivant. I go by the tactic of telling my DSN everything including my life story, its a proper download, but I consider we come reasonably good friends as well now! I let her decide whats relivant and sift the extra c**p I tell her out of her own accord!

I hope it all goes well. Give as much info on how you are and doing right now, I feel you get much more from a consultation, I hope thats not just me!

xx

Steff, good luck with your dsn visit, mention everything!

Let us know how you go, xxx

good luck tomorrow lets us how u get on

Good luck Steff and Alison! If your DSN is as nice as mine you can tell her anything, i even told mine i had a cold...(not swine flu...).

Good luck with your appointments girls.

Don't forget to take your lists of things to say....

Good luck with you appointments.. and as the others have said tell them everything. I saw my DSN last week and see her again in Nov, I feel much happier when I have seen her, the last appointment I opened up and told her loads of stuff and it helped.

Hi Steff & Alison
Yes i agree tell the DSN everything i hope all goes well for you both, let us know how you get on please.
Good luck to you both.

Thanks everyone i have a feeling i am going to burst out crying in front of her , and i hate showing my emotions to a bloody person in public but i think once in a whole a good cry does wonders so you never know she might just have her kleenex at the ready

Ladies, as Steff's signi says honest is best, but you may find as some of us do that when siting in there with the nurse you tense up and forget what to tell them, or ask them! Try writing stuff down it has helped a few of us I know!

Hope it went well.

Rossi 🙂

Hi Steff, wondering how you got on today my love? Is everything ok?

hi everyone back from appoitment now , first downer was the usual lady Rena who i see was not in today so had a guy well that knocked me back as i dont like talking to males so didnt get to talk about the emotions side of thing was just basically all about my diabetes, anyways the byetta is still yay or nay next monday i will find out from GP,erm weight side of things i have lost 5lb whoppee better then nothing i guess, i spoke about scales which was a weird one but he said im weighing myself to much i should weigh at start and end of month , he said im putting to much pressure on myself doing it twice a week so twice a month would de me better, right HBA is also next monday and swine flul is next tuesday they have just rolled it out to our surgery this morning but the receptionist said being that im diabetic i will get it next week so got that as well, all these appointments in 1 week and typically my son has to come to them all arghh .

Also he told me in the next month or so they are setting up a new service by where your mobile gets a text reminding you of upcoming appointments i thought that was quite handy as well
