Yesterday I had a phone call from my DSN - she's very positive even if I'm not - she's had a look at my recent bgls and thinks they're really good - I can't see it myself. I asked about eating out and takeaways and bolusing after I've eaten on these occasions which she said is fine to do.
Last thing - she thinks I'm letting my Diabetes rule my life at the moment and I need to be kinder to myself about it

Well the numbers you’ve posted in the last couple of days have been brilliant - why do you think they are so terrible? Only one 12 and the rest in single figures. If you think you’re doing badly then my daughter’s are atrocious at the moment (yes I am working on it!). Your DSN sounds like she knows what she’s talking about, yes you do need to relax and be a bit kinder to yourself!

If your DSN is happy with your results then she is right that you should relax a bit as the anxiety over what might be wrong is not helping to keep your levels stable. It doesn't mean you don't take your eye off the ball however.

Glad to hear things are positive. It’s easy to become consumed by everything that needs to be monitored but she’s absolutely right, don’t let it consume you.

Thank you so much all of you @Sally71 @Leadinglights @cherrelle-duk for your reassuring and positive replies 🙂 and like @Sally71 said only one 12and the rest in single figures - although there was a 10 in there too 😡

I also think you’re doing really well @mum2westiesGill. :D I seem to remember you really struggling a while back, but you seem to have a new set of guidelines (is that the DSN’s doing?) which you’re sticking to. Relax, and give yourself a pat on the back.🙂

Our DSN once said “there’s no point having perfect numbers all the time if that’s all you think about and you never allow yourself to relax. You have to enjoy life too.” She’s dead right, that little tip helped me loads, I used to get so stressed every time daughter went a bit high for a while! The difficulty is not allowing yourself to relax so much that you lose track of things completely!
