So the hospital just called me to book me in for an appointment on Friday with my new DSN. Previous one left over a year ago and I've not seen anyone since.

Feeling nervous as the consultant has said I need to go onto GLP1 from Friday so she will be prescribing that then. I've heard mixed reviews on it so will see how it goes.

My last HBA1C was 108 when I was in complete denial of my diabetes. I have since been more conscious of my BGs and really trying to get things under control. Better make a note of my BGs for the week so that I can explain to the nurse where I'm at. Fingers crossed it's not just another lecture!

Good luck Emma- hope you don't get a lecture 🙂

. I have appointment on Thursday with practice nurse who I have never met before, so I get how you are feeling.good luck for Friday, and remember they are there to support you.
I’ve kept a food diary this week, and BG but not going to give her it unless she is interested.i know that my diabetes denial has been given the boot the past few weeks, so numbers better, and just hope she recognises the work I have done. This isn’t meant to be all about me, but hopefully can make you feel less alone and more successful.

Emma any appointment with your DSN should be a discussion...and not in any circumstances a lecture...sorry I have no idea what GLP1 is but you can discuss it with them...outline your concerns so they can address them & ask them to take into account your recent progress...you have a record of your recent numbers on your meter which will give you your averages for the last month...some even do a 90 day average...that should demonstrate the improvement you've made...good luck

I was in this situation just yesterday..my first appointment after the newly diagnosed one. There certainly are nerves and some unusual stresses going on, I think this is only natural. The good part is you are going there aware and with some information to show awareness and improvement. Regardless of what happened before.. you will be there in the here and now, I am sure you will get support and advice.

I hope it goes well Emma.
