Drinking alcohol safely with type 1 diabetes

I think it's worth adding that the word "chips" in this context means crisps, and if you are a cocktail person, some cocktails contain more carbs (including the use of sugar syrup) than a bag of crisps.
 
It’s also worth adding that we’re all different. 🙂 There’s no safe drinking for me - my BG crashes and stays low if I drink alcohol. Way too scary, so I quit.:D
 
I think I am probably finished with alcohol as well now since my diagnosis. It just seems like a pointless risk to take. I may change my mind at Christmas though.
 
There is safe ways to enjoy drinking with Type One Diabetes, one of the tips I was given was to make sure to eat something before I go to bed. I don't drink much anymore, but it's not because of Diabetes, I just hate hangovers.
