Despite opposition from a wide range of patient groups, charities and doctors, the government is currently trying to rush through a new rule that will make it far easier to close hospitals without proper consultation; a move that could have a profound impact on people in Greater Manchester.
The new clause, which will form part of the Government?s Care Bill, allows a trust special administrator to take action in relation to a failing NHS organisation, like a hospital, that has direct impact on another part of the NHS.
This includes making changes to facilities and services in the affected area as part of any ?remedy? they feel is necessary.
