Been to see the lovely Dr D this morning (swoon).
Anyway we talked about what the contraceptive pill did to my blood sugars and he has suggested the marina coil - so got an appointment with one of the lady dr to talk about and to see if I need counselling (not sure why I would to have the coil). Then if all is ok will have one fitted.
I also went on to explain about my bs 2 hrs after breakfast - told him I had tried lots of different cereals and explained my bs could between 8 to 11 2 hrs after eating (this is not everyday but certainly 4-5 days a week even tho pre breakfast level are normally less than 5.5) and he said that is acceptable.
For me from when I was first diagnosed, I was TTC and the consultant drilled into my head less than 7 after breakfast. Am I to assume that this is the rules for ladies wanting a baby and during pregnancy?.
He went on to say sometimes to tight control can have a bad effect.
So for now I'm gonna carry on as I am. I wasn't keen on more medication or insulin. Will just monitor and see what my next HbA1c brings, the truth will be in the numbers!!. Got my GP Diabetic review next Friday - so results week after.
I can say that I am proud of myself for doing everything possible to keep myself fit and healthy - even 3 1/2 years on since diagnosis - its not been easy but here's to hopefully continuing to have success.
