Hi
How do people deal with their down days? I think some side effects from my metformin are kicking in but i'm finding i'm not feeling like eating much at all force feeding myself small meals. My BS are 6.6 and been at around that level for few days now which is good and the last 3 weeks has been a complete turn round in diet and healthy living. Think it is slowly kicking in this is here to stay for a while my motivation to keep going strong has dropped a lot on the diet that is not any mental health issue.

We've all been there and got that T-shirt but what keeps me motivated is knowing what could happen otherwise. Diabetes complications are serious and can be life-changing, so I'm doing everything I can to avoid them. So far, so good.

Hi @mark1985 , sorry to that you are feeling a bit down. Even with all the positive changes you have made diabetes is not always easy to live with. You mentioned in earlier posts that you enjoyed running. If you are only on metformin you are not at risk of hypos and it may improve your appetite if you make running part of your regular routine. Also really important to keep hydrated. Lack of fluids can sometimes make you feel lethargic and lacking motivation.
I find being outside usually lifts my mood, especially if I am focusing on a specific task. This week it's picking apples for making cider. I won't be able to drink it until next year but I tell myself that I will get my BG levels to under 50 before then so I can treat myself to an occasional glass. Also if the cider turns to vinegar we will have plenty of cider vinegar for us and our chickens at no cost except our time and energy.
Remember you can vent on the forum, it can help to get it off your chest and know that plenty of us have been there so nobody is judging you.
