Just needed a little glucose top-up to head-off a post-meal dip (I blame the warmer weather and a late dog walk).

What I pulled from the JB bag was an amorphous double-green blob, melded in to a single object, and all I could think of was, “Whatever would @Northerner think?!” 😱😱😱

As any Trekkie will tell you, that's the unfortunate result of a Transporter malfunction.

Reminds me of that scene in Galaxy Quest (the sci-fi spoof) where the untrained actor has to operate the real transporter beam, with some fairly squishy initial results. 😱

As i recall, it turned inside out, and then it exploded. I sincerely hope that doesn’t happen if your jelly baby is in a pocket, it’ll never come out in the wash!

There have been occasions when the JB has melted to form a jelly blob, and mingled too much with the lining of a pocket!!!! They can be pesky things and definitely do not come out in the wash.

I have a rule that green JBs are never stored together, so that I never have to eat 2 green ones together. Hypos are bad enough without having to eat 2 green jelly babies (YUK YUK YUK!), so I always portion my Hypo Heroes out so that a green is paired with a black of red one to counter balance good and evil!

That is really bad luck getting green conjoined twins!

But two JBs in a blob would remind you of you favourite veg (only 223 days to go)! 🙄

If you are referring to sprouts, maybe I would be fine with them if they tasted like sprouts but it is the lime flavour I object to, not that I don't like lime but just not the lime flavour of green JBs. In fact green is my favourite colour so it really is just the flavour which is the issue with them.

Wasn’t that a spoof of The Fly, when he tried to put the baboon through the transporter and it turned inside out?! I know that most of Galaxy Quest was taking the rip out of Star Trek, but I think there were references to quite a few sci-fi films as well. One scene that was almost identical to some other film that I’d recently watched with hubby (don’t remember the name now). I’m not much of a sci-fi fan though, so there are probably loads of references that go straight over my head!

I used to work with a colleague who only ate the red and green ones, then left the bag out on her desk for everyone else to help themselves. I always thought it was weird to like that particular combo rather than, say, red and black!

@debs248 Yes that is really weird! I only eat the red ones with the green ones to help the green ones go down less objectionably! The green ones in the Asda own brand jelly babies are much better than branded JBs. I currently buy mine from Lidl as I shop there regularly and it is much more cost effective than the branded ones from the village shop and they do white ones which are quite nice and the green ones are not as bad as Maynards.

I couldn't find my opened packet of JBs to top up the small bag I keep in my handbag a while ago. So I bought another packet.
Rearranged my pantry last week and found it. So now I have 2 opened packets with clips on.o_O😱
I haven't needed to take any for a while but I like all the colours. My SiL bought me some Jellyactrics as a joke Christmas tree present one year. They were funny but didn't taste as good as normal JBs.

I love the tiny green haribo ones which taste like apple to me. Don't know if you can buy them on their own, my daughter often gets starmix and some other "mix" whose name I've forgotten.
