Hi. New here today. Recently diagnosed t1 diabetic. (Nov4th) Had hypothyroidism from birth and on 200mcg levothyroxine per day.

Was a bit of a dipstick this morning and took dose of levo n suddenly thought "oh sheet! Did i already take these this morning?"

Ended up having 2 hypos. One after big bowl of oats n nuts with fruit. Which brought bloods up to 9mmol. Within 2 hours hypo kicked in and reading 3.7mmol. Had bowl of wedges which brought it up to 8.4. Little over 2 hrs later, hypo kicked in at 4.5mmol.

Anyone had experience with double dosing levo. Could accelerated metabolism have caused this?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome JoeA. I can't help you with the levo but I'd like to say that a better treatment for a hypo is fast acting carbs.
The usual advice is to take 15g of fast acting in the shape of Glucose/dextrose tablets or something like jelly babies. Re test after 15mins and repeat if required.
Anything above 4 is strictly speaking not a hypo but if you've been used to higher levels it may well feel like one. In these cases just tak a small amount of carbs and you'll soon feel better.

What insulin are you on? As it's early days for you your dosages may not be quite right so you could have had too much insulin for what you ate. If in doubt ask your DSN for advice.

Good luck 🙂
