A hospital nurse who arrived home to find her diabetic partner had taken an insulin overdose killed herself in despair after failing to save his life, a coroner ruled today.
Auxiliary nurse Ann Luca Del Giudici, 59, probably fought for hours to revive partner Roy McQuillan, 50, the inquest was told.
But when he died she took an assortment of Mr McQuillan's medications - including an antibiotic to which she knew she was highly allergic.
