Stawell resident Dorothy Wynd was presented with the Kellion Victory Medal for her remarkable perseverance in living well with diabetes for more than sixty years.
Dorothy received the award at a special ceremony at the Melbourne Town Hall on Monday.
The 2011 Kellion Victory Medal for remarkable perseverance in living well with diabetes for 50-70 years was awarded to 23 Victorians, including Dorothy, during the special ceremony. The ceremony acknowledged recipients who have lived a lifetime of diabetes - ten who have lived with the condition for 50 years, twelve for 60 years and one for 70 years. Carers were also recognised for their ongoing support.
