Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
My name is Doreen, and I'm 73. I live up in the North East. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 3 years ago and started injecting insulin about a year ago. Trying to lose a bit of weight at the moment so any slimming recipes welcome. Love my holidays abroad, my great grandkids and my partner, not necessarily in that order. Joined this organisation from a stall in a local shopping mall. Looking forward to advice and chat with like minded people.

Hi Doreen and welcome from another North Easterner.... and diabetic of course!

The forum is a great place for information and support from people who understand exactly what you are going through in a friendly and relaxed environment. I hope you benefit from being a member as much as I have and hopefully continue to do. There are some great tips on food as well as a wealth of knowledge on medication and technology available and of course basic day to day management. Make yourself at home and feel free to ask anything, no matter how basic or trivial it seems and by all means share any tips or recipes that you yourself have discovered.
