I don’t know if you happened to see Newsnight last night, but there was an item on the ‘NHS’ plan to extract every person’s complete health record. It’s not the NHS who want this. The spokesperson put up to speak for the plan was someone called Tina Woods, who is pally with Hancock.

The BBC helpfully identified her as representing Collider Health. So I looked up Collider Health. A private company, this has been working behind the scenes not for the NHS, but advising government. I can’t be bothered listing their plans, but it is clearly part of the set up for privatising the NHS.

Maybe I’m being paranoid, but the government did assure folk that this info was to help the NHS in their planning. As I said at the top, it’s not the NHS who want this. They already know your health historassist you in making a decision, and taking a look at the folk who really want this data, have a look at the website.

And try and find any mention of the NHS.

Finally a news story about it that remembers Care.data. They didn't really try to explain how the two are different, unfortunately which seems like it would be helpful. (I was wondering if I was the subject of some kind of bizarre hoax where nobody else had experienced the Care.data thing.)

I think you might be letting your imagination get away with you.

Collider Health is a micro-company with just one employee - Tina herself.
The company balance sheet has effectively £0 on it as of their last accounts.
Just look at the state of the text on the front page of the website.
Some examples:

"Collider Health is a system shaper and ecosystem architect"

"We catalyse partnerships and ventures to turbocharge mission-driven innovation and change."

"The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the fracture lines in society and is changing the world order before our eyes- forcing the future into the present."

It's laughable tripe. You meet these types of deluded people everywhere in business I'm afraid.

She has 3 other directorships in record at Companies House. One company was wound up
9 years ago. One of the others has no turnover at all and the final one brings in £43k but she has outgoings of £85k so this business is of no value either.
I can't see anything to be concerned about here.

The interesting question is why someone like her was on Newsnight in the first place. You can't usually just walk in off the street and give interviews on TV. Who was she speaking on behalf of?

The BBC was clearly touting her as a spokesperson for the plan. If you look at her website fully, you will see her attachment to government. I doubt the BBC plucked her name our of the air, so her name must have been put forward by some element of the government. Ans she has nothing to do with the NHS - so why does she want the data?

I wholly agree it's laughable tripe, but it has clearly seduced some creeps in the government.

You may not be concerned, living in Scotland, but if you aren't worried, you're not paying attention.

It's about deciding not to be concerned about things until I see a clear reason to be concerned.

Happy to leave the speculation and worrying to other people. I have far more interesting and pressing needs in my life without adding to it with unwarranted suspicions, guesses and assumptions.

I'll decide for myself when to be worried about something. I certainly don't need others to tell me when that should be and what I should be worried about.
