@Kol Same here except I am far naughtier than you and change my needles Sunday and Wed, so each needle does up to 4 days which could be as many as 20 injections with my bolus insulin. No issues in 5 years.
Out of curiosity, you mention taking a pen from the fridge, are you still using disposable pens? The reusable pens are really great, particularly the Novo Nordisk ones if you use their insulin(s). I can very highly recommend the NovoPen Echo which does half units and has a last dose reminder which tells you how much and when you last injected from it, which is a great help for those "did I or didn't I?" moments. Better for the environment too and the cartridges take up less space in the fridge.

Yes still using disposable pens, never been offered any different, I do agree with the wastage thing and all that, but they are just so reliable, still work after dropping them, none have broke through use, mine don't live in a case, have not tried putting in the washing machine yet though or driving over.... 🙂
If I forget and leave it at work, no problem just get another out the fridge.

The did or didn't I ? is definately not fun!

All valid points. I still prefer the reusable pens. They have nice heft to them, and being able to scan them to get all the doses into LibreLink is convenient (though it would be even more convenient if they'd discard doses of 1 unit). The compactness of the cartridges is nice, too: a set of 5 disposable pens is many times the size of 5 cartridges.

I've also never been offered reusable pens, but when I asked there was no reluctance to switch me over.

The same is true for reusable pens.
The advice is to always make sure you have a spare pen. If your in-use pen breaks, gets mislaid or is left at work, you take a cartridge of insulin out of the fridge and put it in your spare pen.
It is far better for the environment than all that plastic you throw away with every pen.

Very upset with myself today, went out with my friends for lunch. Ordered it and was looking forward to it, went to inject had my insulin but no needles, I could have cried ( I actually did when I came home) never forgot them before and was 7 mile from home. Just watched everyone else eat, got it boxed up, but not that keen on reheated food. Has anyone else done this, or am I the only idiot
Oh no, that is a bummer. I recently sat down to a high-carb meal featuring a LOT of chips in my favourite greasy spoon cafe. My favourite treat and definitely a 10 unit job, only to find I only had 4 units of insulin in my pen. I told myself it wouldn't kill me, so I ate it anyway, but with a side serving of anxiety.
