I had all my carbs today had half a advocado with a whole pack of prawns had a 2 rasher bacon with wholegrain bread for breakfadt had waalnuts for a snack then had asda take awat indian ! Had loads of coffffee and tea and bottleof wine !! So why are my blood glucose levels 7.5 ‽??
Sounds like your metabolism has coped well, even though you had a few carbs today.
There aren’t many carbs in avocado or prawns.
Neither would 2 rashers of bacon have any.
Wholegrain bread is likely to be 15-20g of carbs per slice.
Walnuts again are pretty low carb.
Coffee, tea, (without sugar, obviously), and dry wine aren’t especially high carb either.
The Asda ‘heat it and eat it’ indian meal would have carb info on the packaging, and is likely to have been by far the largest amount of carbohydrate in your food for the day. But the high fat content of the meal can delay absorption of the carbohydrate, so your metabolism may still have been processing the food when you checked.
Are you getting mixed up between
calories and
carbohydrates? Lots of the things you mention are high calorie foods - avocado, bacon, nuts, wine, takeaway (they contain a lot of energy), but that doesn’t necessarily mean they
all have a lot of carbohydrate in them, so they may not have raised your blood glucose as much as you expected? It’s the carbohydrate content that has the biggest impact on your glucose levels.
