My BG fasting was around 6.1-6.3 and post food around 7.0-7.3 fro around past 60-90 days
I decide to loose some more weight and went on intermittent fasting 16/8 ( eat for 8 hours 10 am - 6 pm) fast fro 16 hrs ( 6pm -10 am) since then i have noticed by post food BG has increased to around 8.1-8.5 ( fasting BG has remained same ) is there any reason or correlation for the same , should i stop the intermittent fasting

I wear a Libre Sensor this morning my BG was 5.9 before getting up to loo, before breakfast it was up to 7.1. I had not eaten since 6.15 pm.

Hi tks , yes its not rising during fasting , after 16 hours fasting when i have my first meal and measure after 2 Hrs - its 8.5

It depends upon if you break your fast with carbohydrates or not.
For me, after my daily 16hr fast I often find the BG level is high (7.5 to 8.0) but when that happens eating my usual LCHF lunch brings it down to under 7.0

Many people do seem to find that their liver can be dissuaded from ‘helpfully’ releasing glucose to fire up the burners for the day by eating fairly promptly after rising.

Lower carb breakfasts seem to work just as well in stopping DP.

Others find a late low carb moderate fat/protein snack seems to help - but it’s a very individual thing it seems, and you have to experiment to see what works best for you. 🙂
