Type 2
I have type 2 and I am not managing it properly so much so that my last blood test I have been given Jardine as well which drains the sugar from your body but I have been feeling exhausted this week like no energy could it be the hot weather which I heard can increase your sugar level or maybe the heat, I was fine last week now I feel so drained be grateful on any ideas

Hydration is very important with Jardiance (which is what I assume you meant - not nitpicking on spelling or grammar, making sure we are talking about the same drug 🙂 )
It makes your kidneys bounce more glucose to urniating it out vs recirculating it. If you are not hydrating well with it, dehydration can make you tired (amongst many other things). On top of that the warmer weather may not be helping either.

When did you start Jardiance?

I started it before Xmas. I do drink a lot of water but sometimes I take milk thistle which also increases my urine but y right as sometimes my pre is very dark especially first thing in morning No u not nitpicking I am just grateful I got a reply. I had no help with my diabetes I had an awful nurse no help I feel terrible now feel constantly overtired. I have been taking B12 as doc said it was a bit low

I've never found that Metformin robs me of my energy, but on the odd occasion that I spike and then crash, then my energy just disappears. Luckily it very rare as it's a horrid feeling. Atorvastatin also sapped my energy, I don't know if you are on any statins as well? I think this heat will exacerbate any feelings of exhaustion.

I think statins can make your pee dark also oral B12. Often low B12 can make you tired so hopefully your treatment should help.

High Blood Glucose levels often make you tired and anxious. If you are low on B12 you might be better with an injection than tablets. Metformin can inhibit the absorption of B12 by the digestive system so if the Metformin is restricting your absorption then taking an oral supplement will likely not improve things.

Do you test your own Blood Glucose (BG) levels at home? It would be interesting to know what your levels are like at the moment. If they are particularly high, that would be my bet for the way you are feeling.... along with the heat and perhaps disturbed sleep.

No so far everything else ok I think heat is too much plus I can’t sleep at night

I tried to get a meter and asked the nurse and a doctor both told me as I am on metformin I don’t need to test

LOL I was pretty much typing what @rebrascora put re the b12 injections

A lot of T2s self fund a meter and strips unless on certain medications or insulin.
I believe one of the meters and strips on the DUK shop are most cost effective at the moment.

Its not so much the initial cost of the meter but the ongoing expense of the strips that add up 🙂

also when was your b12 last checked and / or are they rechecking anytime soon?

It could be one of the best health investments you make if you self fund one. Most people here on the forum find it is an invaluable tool which gives them knowledge to manage their diabetes better particularly with dietary changes. Unfortunately many GPs and nurses have no idea of the huge benefit of making the right dietary changes and it can be highly individual because people's tastes are different and their metabolism is different and their gut flora (microbiome is different). A BG meter will show you which foods cause you a problem and which you can get away with or maybe need to resign to the rare treat category. Using a BG meter is empowering for most people and when they see what some foods do to their levels it helps them to have more willpower to resist eating it in the future (I hit a BG of 27 one night after eating a bag of Jacobs salt and vinegar crackers and thought I was going to end up in hospital.... I see them in the shop on special offer and remember that night I sat up drinking pint after pint of water to try to bring those dangerous levels down) but seeing improvements day by day and week by week is also very motivating
They are relatively inexpensive to buy at about £15 for a meter kit but the ongoing cost of buying test strips for them is where it can hit the finances. For that reason people on the forum have always recommended the Gluco Navii BG meter or the Spirit Healthcare Tee2 as these meters are both reliable but have some of the cheapest test strips on the market.

the strips pricing seems to fluctuate so much of late.
Shop about for sure 🙂
I was forced on the tee2+ as thats what was prescribed for me but the meter is fine, if not a little bulky to carry everywhere.
Bluetooths to my app for it which is basic but does the job.
Can't comment on the rest of them.
