For the last 5-6 days I've been struggling with high morning levels, between 17 and highest was 26 😱 Couldn't get into single figures during the day either, constantly testing and injecting novorapid. Fell into the trap of putting it down to the vagaries of diabetes, or thought I might be coming down with something as I've felt grotty, probably because of the high levels.
Well, a lightbulb must've gone on in my head this morning as I realised the highs had coincided with a new vial of insulatard. Further close examination revealed a cracked cartridge that was leaking😱 Don't know how that happened, or how long cracked, but the insulin must have been 'off' and not effective. Grrrrrrrr......
So, fellow peeps, I will now be more vigilant about examining insulin cartridges in future!
