Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Just back had a good chat to doctor since Sunday my moods gone very downhill and knew I was starting to feel down sleep pattern went up the wall and starting snapping so appt was good timing I think. Discussed insulin and upping to 16 units and then if that makes no difference got to up dose every 3 days until I start seeing single figures. I told her I'm getting down now about being out of work been 5 months now and it's becoming a drag. She's put me forward for councillor again and in particular twinnings (no that don't mean I have to days drink 5 cups of fruit tea ) but they specialise in mental health and in particular help you get back into work so I think that could help. At least I. Knew I was getting down and opened up not like in the past ignored it. My mate is trying to get me to go out tonight and get back into darts but I'm not feeling it I almost feel worried to.go out and see faces. . I'm going back on setraline as I stopped it when I couldn't be bothered anymore so I've promised her I'm going to try and take my depression meds .
Gotta get in touch in 2 weeks and make further appointment.

Sounds like a very timely appointment Steff, I'm glad you were able to be honest about how you have been struggling. I hope that the changes to meds help pull you out of the pit and that the counselling support helps you get your mojo back, and back into work 🙂 {{{HUGS}}}

All the best with the job hunting Steff and I hope you feel brighter soon xx
I've been on sertraline in the past and it did help me, so I'm hoping it helps you too x

Thank you sue your a real mate xx

Went out in the end was only for an hour but nice to see the usual crowd at darts x

Well done making the effort to go out. It's not always easy but it's a positive when you do and usually much more enjoyable than you expect. Hope you're soon feeling brighter xx

Glad you recognized the signs and saw someone, Steff. I know exactly how you feel, not wanting to go out. When I was feeling down after my diabetes dx I'd have a good old cry before going out, then I'd drag myself off out cos I knew I'd feel worse if I didn't. That's just me...sending (((hugs))) and hope you feel more upbeat very soon.🙂

Pleased you had a positive appointment and your GP listened to you and helped.

Hope you can turn things around Steff, been there myself. Definitely best to get out and mix with people (why don't I follow this advice?!!!). Hope you feel stronger and happier soon xx

@Steff Just seen this.
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time Steff - but so glad you made an appointment to see your GP and able to open up - it's difficult to go out when you're feeling the way you do - I understand this - been there too as you know - half of your brain tells you that you need to go out but the other half is telling you to stay in - at the time it seems like a no win scenario - I found that if I didn't make myself go out first thing in the morning then by the afternoon/evening it became more difficult to open the front door - I'm hoping that you will start taking the Setraline again - it will make you feel less anxious & depressed and then perhaps with counselling you will be able to find yourself a job (fingers crossed) It will give you something that's missing in your life at the moment which you need. (((Hugs))) x

I'm pleased to hear you were able to seek help Steff...that's a brave and wise move. Hope you can find a counsellor you can relate to and get yourself back in a happier, more peaceful frame of mind 🙂

Thanks guys x

@Redkite your so spot on I tell people all the time but actually never take my own advice which is annoying
