Hi, My appointment today went quite well. She agreed for me to reduce my metformin down to just two tablets a day.🙂 She even said that my amlodipine could be reudec....then my blood pressure was taken 145/83 I was a bit surprised however, I had eaten 20 mins before and I was emotional-wise up and down due to domestic issues. However the last part (83) is the lowest it has been for a while. So the Doc said she would hold off reducing the amlodipine for a while.

Regarding the head pains ( which have decreased greatly), Doc said it is normally a side effect of metformin and amlodipine. I looked at my results.
July 2011 - 53 mm/ol; Oct - 47mm/ol; Jan - 45mm/ol; March - 43mm/ol;
BMI was 51 back in July 2011; March - BMI - 42;
Weight 146kg now. back in Feb 2011 - 184kg.

So I am on a high at the moment, she also asked me to be wary if the weight creeps back on to go back to my 4 tablets of metformin. 🙂🙂🙂

Great stuff Rustee, sounds like you have made some excellent progress, and always feels really good when you are able to reduce medication! Regarding the blood pressure - a lot of people suffer from 'white coat syndrome', whereby the blood pressure increase purely because you are stressed at having it taken! This always happens to me so I bought a home meter and I can now see that, in more relaxed surroundings, my BP is actually fine 🙂

Keep up the excellent work! 🙂

Thanks for that, and I will. It's this forum that is one of the motivation factors in helping me 🙂🙂🙂

Sounds like you're doing a brilliant job 🙂 well done you :D xx
