I've just filled it in. Thanks for the link. 🙂

Have had my rant about smaller, rural practices being less focused than urban specialist clinics giving another angle on the postcode lottery. 🙄

Rob

Personally I used to live in a much more rural area (it was an RDC not a UDC) and had FAR better care than I ever got here until recently - and this is a city. I think they thought she's had it for ages and she's still alive so that must mean she knows absolutely everything and needs zilcho help ....

I've completed it too. Have been overwhelmed by the pace, support and attention from our local surgery to be honest, and then some.

A couple of the GPs take the lead in terms of Diabetes; 3 Diabetic Nurses with clinics most days of the week with immediate referal to one of the GPs if needed; Dietician; Podiatrist (with next day appointments!!); daily Nurse clinics for blood, BP etc; repeat prescription for test strips no problem .....

The only thing they don't do at our surgery is the eye check - but they set up the appointment at a location that's only 6 miles away.

Guess we're just lucky (and grateful for it)?🙂

Hee hee Joe, how long will it take to collate all the moans?

I took the survey as well. Made me realise I haven't had a foot screening in over 6 years! I had one about a year after I got diagnosed and was then told they didn't need to see me for a while since it was too soon after diagnosis to see any changes. I have never heard anything back. Rang my DSN straight away to get a referral!

Just done the survey and moaned about the tick box mentality of practice nurse. For example, last blood pressure was low which she said was ok as long as I was not feeling dizzy, lightheaded, etc. I said that actually I was every now and then and she just carried on typing at her computer reading the next question and said mmmmm. On to the next bit.

Will be interesting to see the results.

Ha 🙂 A fair while I guess! It's all helpful though, and there are some really interesting stats coming out of this already. We've had well over 4,000 responses already which is brilliant.

Everyone should fill it in!

They certainly should, I said on another forum whether you 'like' DUK or not, fill it in because otherwise nobody will actually find out where the pockets of uselessness are, will they!

Duly noted and filled out! 🙂
