I was just wondering if i shauld ask to see my DN every three months until i get my self sorted,although i have made a good start im still struggling,i did make a trip to the library today and came home with a selection of books on diabetes and low GI diets.

Hi Caroleann, I think you should ask to see your DSN whenever you want - it will certainly be a good idea to have regular updates to check on your progress and to discuss any concerns. I found my DSN to be a great comfort and support as I began to understand my diabetes.🙂

It's your health, and if you're lucky enough to have a specialist nurse, ask to see her as often as you want to. You keep well now, it save the health servuce money later, and if the way to keep well is to see the nurse frequently, go for it.

Hi Caroleann like others have said they should not be a time limit, some on here are lucky enough to have there dsn's phone number and or email addy and can stay in touch as freuquent as they like whereas others like myself see mine every 3-4 month, personally for me this is maddening but hay ho ce le vi.
