had a really bad Dizzy spell this evening the room was spinning, checked my blood it was 6.0 so it wasn't that that caused it I wasn't hungry, has anyone else had this.

Well I don't know that I've been as bad as you. I have had dizziness over this month. A couple of weeks ago doctor said vertigo.
No idea what my BG is doing.

I have had dizzy spells ever since early childhood but they could never pin it down to anything.

They occur in different circumstances for me. If I am subject to sudden pain (slamming a gate on my thumb, for example) or being generally under the weather and having to stand up. Or having to sit in church (ok, that only happened once in my teens!).

One episode happened immediately after I had just had a little sample of my liver taken. Interestingly, in that case, my heart rate dropped dramatically and my blood pressure fell to something like 48/27 briefly. I know this because I was on a monitor during that process.

Not sure what this has to do with you beyond my point that perhaps you were just under the weather at the time? I am assuming this is not a regular occurrence for you (dizzy spells, that is).

Hi Lesley
Dizzy spells can be caused by so many things, so if they persist I'd definitely check it out with a medical professional. Dizziness and loss of balance is definitely in my little suite of blood sugar reactions though, I get dizziness, vertigo and disco legs (not a technical term 🙂) with low blood sugar and if it's on the rise or dropping quickly. The vertigo is new that one only started happening with hypos quite recently. The consultant told me last week it's blood pressure related, I run low on the BP front and it would seem my blood pressure drops quite a bit when my blood sugar starts to drop. That needed another 24 hour blood pressure test, a bit of a faff but worth it to work out why. It also convinced the consultant that my seemingly normal BP readings of 120ish over 70 when he takes it are actually white coat syndrome 🙄 because I actually run considerably lower than that when he's not around.

Thank you for your replys I will speak to the gp next time I see her if it continues 🙂
