It says up to 30 minutes on the Dexcom One app to pair transmitter yet it says 2hrs in the booklet so confused: will thesensor start sending data to my phone after 30 minutes or 2hrs?. Also if my phone is in my pocket is that close enough to the sensor and transmitter?

I am sure Mike @everydayupsanddowns has mentioned that his Dexcom doesn't like transmitting through his body, so he needs to keep either his phone or perhaps it was his pump on the same side on his body as the sensor. I am also sure he has mentioned taking the transmitter off the sensor and putting it in another room at the end of the 10 days and then putting it back on the sensor to restart it and stretch it to another 10 days of life. Hopefully he will be able to advise how to remove the transmitter if it doesn't start giving you readings after the warm up period. Have you used this transmitter with a sensor before and if so, how long ago. From what I understand, once you start using it, the clock is ticking on it's lifespan, so if you don't use it with consecutive sensors, it may be dead by the time you come back to use it. This is one of the reasons why Dexcom is less compatible/economical with intermittent sensor usage.

I am not sure of the warm up time for the Dexcom One but I suspect it may be 2 hours.

The Dexcom One has a 2hr warm up time, I believe, so won’t be ‘live’ and sending readings until then. The transmitter is built-in to the G7 (which I have) so I’m not sure about that bit.

You’ll have to see re your phone. I use Dexcom G7 and the receiver and as long as the receiver is within a few metres all has been ok. I usually keep it in my pocket and it reads my sensor fine wherever on my body it is.

I think it depends on the strength of the signal from the transmitter and the the strength of the receiver which is either in the reader or the phone. Different phones have different Bluetooth strength.

Up to 30 minutes pairing transmitter will only be needed on the first pairing. The sensor warm up of 2hrs is for each new sensor. Phone in pocket is fine so long as on same side of body as sensor

I have changed my mind about Dexcom. I have emailed the privacy team to ask that my account and data is deleted.

I have decided to stick with Libre 2 partly because there are a few places that I can purchase a sensor over the counter which is easier than having to call and order separate individual sensors although I have only ever had the starter pack plus an extra sensor and transmitter which I was told to keep.

Would make more sense to use the dexcom you already have first though, than bin hundreds worth of kit.

I think you have to choose the kit that works for you @HalfpipMarathon - though I do agree with @Lucyr that it would makes sense to me to 'use up' any left over kit I had purchased first.

Regarding the original question it's differences between pairing the transmitter (which you generally do once in its lifetime), and the sensor warm-up time of 2 hours.

And yes, my phone seems to have a more robust Bluetooth antenna than the Tandem tSlim.

I can keep my phone in the same trouser pocket whether my Dex G6 is on left arm or right arm. But the tSlim (clipped to my waistband) needs to swap sides so it has a better 'line of sight' to the sensor on the arm above.

Not that this will be particularly useful now you've decided to stick to Libre2 🙂

The sensor failed and I had to remove it. I'm not sure when or even if I will order more. I only had one sensor and transmitter in the starter pack plus the receiver I bought as well due to my old phone being incompatible with the app. I used the original sensor but still have two transmitters.

I have purchased a Libre 2 sensor for the time being and will carry on with Libre2 until I have decided if I choose to return to Dexcom One.
