Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi Everyone!

I am Grace, a third year university student studying sociology and also a type 1 diabetic! I am in search for any type 1 diabetics between the ages of 18-25 who are willing to be interviewed for my dissertation. My study looks at 'How does the social stigma of Type 1 Diabetes impact the general health of young diabetics between the ages of 18-25 in the UK?'

If you are interested in taking part and fit within the category, please comment on this thread and we can get in touch over email. I would be very grateful. Thanks again.

Grace

Hello @graceelizabeth31
This sounds like and interesting and useful dissertation.
Unfortunately I am way/way/way/way/way out of the age range to help you with this! 🙂

I know though that in spite of much improved general knowledge about Diabetes, stigmatism is still a problem, particularly for young people.
Do the university provide any help and support for students living with Diabetes?

Very best wishes with your studies, and I hope you find some respondents that can help.

Hi,
Thank you for your interest anyways!
My university does have mental health services and access to Disabled Student Allowance, however there isn't any specific groups to aid with support.
That's why i think researching into it is really important and especially looking at solutions and improvements for the future.
Thanks again!

Hi Everyone,

I've actually found my sample size of participants so I do not need anymore volunteers! Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment and participate.

I am extremely grateful.
Thanks,
Grace
