+1 for the fastclix, multiclix, softclix and whichever was before that!

Ive always used Roche finger stabbers, they are my favourite by far.

I am with others and do not bother to wash hands before testing, but do so if I get an unexplained oddity.
I am also still on my first box of lancets. I really should change them more often but just forget until it hurts.

It's occurred to me that, now I'm fortunate to have the Libre on prescription, it's likely my remaining half box of lancets will last me until I get my telegram from the Queen! 😱 🙂

I got given a yellow plastic lidded thingy with two different shaped holes at the top for lancets and test strips and I use that. I've had it for nearly a year and there is just a little layer on the bottom - I think it will take years and years to fill.
I've only used about six lancets in that time. I think the ones I got given will last for decades.
I didn't used to wash my hands before testing but since I got a weird reading, I do now and my readings are considerably lower than they were before I started washing my hands carefully. I dry them thoroughly too so it isn't because of having wet hands to reduce my readings. Unless hand washing counts as exercise to reduce my blood sugars? 😉o_O🙄

Try always to wash hands, in car keep bottle of water in console so pour some over finger if needing to test, not so much for hygiene more to do with accuracy. No water then first blood gets wiped away on tissue.

I’m sure items with blood on don’t need to be disposed of in sharps bins, unless there is a risk the user had a condition which passes via blood.
When I did first aid training the tutor said we would put a tissue or plaster with blood in the normal household paste so it’s the same.
All my test strips go into the herbal waste bin!

into the herbal waste bin

Tee hee! I guess you meant ‘Normal waste’? Unless you live in a very fancy area with an extremely advanced waste and recycling scheme? :D

Haha that’s brilliant!
Predictive text on phones drives me made, especially with names. My cousin is Emi, it always calls her Emu haha

I keep unfragranced wet wipes by my bed for when I test my waking and bedtime bgs. During the day and evening I wash my hands before testing.
I have a yellow 'sharks' bin that my DN gave to me on the day I was dx along with a meter & test strips. Considering the amount of times I have used Lancets over three years, it's nowhere near as full yet. When it's full then my Pharmacist says to take it into the pharmacy for disposal.
