Discontinuation of accuchek aviva expert meter

Learned about this recently on the grapevine and confirmed by DSN today. It seems the "replacement" is an app which is not easy to use, does not take into account "insulin on board" or have health setting options.

Anyone know any different?

No, I don't Karen but like I've said elsewhere I have seen evidence that some people have the meter that goes with the Insight pump which has the same functionality as the old Combo meter aka the Expert - who don't have an Insight pump.

I did a post about this a few days, maybe a week ago, there isn't any need for Expert users to look into getting any other meter as the strips are still going to be getting produced for it, they will replace with another Expert until supply runs out, that was from an email response to me from Roche xx

Sorry Kaylz, I will have a look at that. My DSN said she had been unable to get any more. Mine is ok at present but I was thinking ahead.

I don't know why your apologising, there's absolutely no need to! they are available until December this year but if anything happens before then just contact Roche, they replaced mine a few months ago no problem xx

Thanks Mike, if anyone knows how to delete this thread I am happy for them to do so. Its only duplicating whats already been said.
