Im doing DAFNE in September so that they can put in an application for my pump funding.. However the nurse said today that all pumps have been allocated for this financial year. Nothing will be done with regard to my pump application until my next diabetic appointment which isn't until March/May.

That's terrible news. I wonder if it is worth kicking up a fuss because my understanding is that if you meet the NICE criteria you should get a pump, money shouldn't come into it.

Amanda they are not allowed to do that.
Contact INPUT and tell them what's going on.

Sorry to hear this Amanda. :(

I agree with Sue, INPUT would be a very useful resource, I'm sure I've seen something on their FAQ page that exactly addresses this "Oh dear, no more pumps until 2014" kind of response.

It's very difficult, isn't it, because the DSN is probably stuck in the middle and feels as disappointed as you, but I would say that it is worth jumping up and down about as whoever shouts loudest usually gets heard whereas those of us who tend to acquiesce end up getting put to the bottom of the pile.

Hope you get your pump soon.
