I'm using Dexcom One with a receiver.

The sensors are cheaper than Libre 2.

As per my previous post I received a replacement sensor today but it wasn't until I got home and opened the package that I saw they have sent the wrong one, a G6 not a Dexcom One.

I'm assuming that G6 is more expensive than Dexcom One. I have to wait until tomorrow to call Dexcom (Sat 7 -1pm) to ask what to do. I can't use the transmitter and receiver I have as they are only for Dexcom One but it's going to be a logistical nightmare sending it back.

How did those who swapped from G5 to G6 then G7 manage?. It's not very cost effective to have different receivers, apps, sensors and transmitters for each upgrade.

It's just as well I am using a Libre 2 atm.

I'd guess most use iPhones rather than the receivers (which I think are rather expensive for G6).
 
If they refuse it back (which they may do to avoid any risk of sending one out that someone has previously tampered with) and just send you another ONE sensor without taking the G6 back then @everydayupsanddowns may appreciate a donation since he self funds 😉

I'm not at all suggesting that you personally would have done anything to it, just that a big corporation may not be willing to take that risk

If I am wrong then so be it!

My guess is they won't want it back. Just because it's more hassle than it's worth. (They're used to sending these out, and likely receiving back broken ones. Not so much receiving unwanted ones and sending those out to other people. So regardless of the risks, I'd guess they'll be fine with you giving it to a friend who can use it.)

Most medical things would be just thrown away if returned as they are not allowed to reissue items. A bit like incorrectly dispensed medication at the pharmacy can't be returned to stock even though never opened.
 
Once any medical item has lost full traceability it has to be disposed off.
