Being British and funny makes us 'special'. You've no idea of the funny looks I get here in Spain because I say 'please' and 'thank you'. It makes some people laugh, but I'd rather them laugh than cry. Today is a crazy day because everyone has an immense Christmas Eve meal - 12 or more courses, me, I'm having pasta and sauce and they just can't understand it. Each to his/her own I say.
