been testing my sugars six times a day ,im totally confused what food is ok,can have same breakfast for two days and my sugars are different, been put on ex tablet glizacide as well as two metformin, desperate to get my sugars to a normal level, read a lot about diet and foods, all very confusing,a lot of useful info already thanks everyone,im trying to stay calm,my vision is a bit blurry at times, could this be the extra medication ?

Sorry to hear that you are getting frustrated.... The problem is that no 2 days are the same, particularly for a newly DX'd diabetic... Better to just go with it now; you will be more stable when your diabetes is better controlled.

Myself, to control my D I have cut or reduced all carb sources such as bread, rice, pasta, cereals & starchy vegetables, replacing them with green leafy vegetables. It has made a huge difference in terms of the quality of my overall diet & BG control.
