As someone that visits the pub every week, as designated driver! I was drinking several glasses of diet/zero Coke per visit; half-pint measures. Around a year ago I started to feel really nauseous when drinking so I've stopped and haven't touched it since. It does make pub drinking rather difficult as if you want something "soft", sugar free that isn't Coke, for the pubs I frequent, choices are very limited.....tap or bottled water and that's it!! Having built a really good rapport (to the same level of rapport as the "Cheers" bar!!) they leave the coffee/ hot water machine on so I have tea...pot for one!!!

You are dead right the choice of 'diet' drinks in pubs etc is pretty poor, usually only tonic water (not a fan of that) and coke/pepsi.

There are some very good zero beers now, non alcoholic gins, and a good selection of zero sugar bottled juices as well.

I’m fond of IrnBru Extra, which is zero carb, but all the flavour of the original, and has caffeine. Comes from being educated in Scotland. Not usually available in English pubs, I have to say. Now, if only Barr would make such a thing as carb free Tizer…

I came across IrnBru Jelly babies on Amazon.
Tizer and Dandelion and Burdock were favourites as in kid in Lancashire.
