I caught the last half of it - looked interesting! Always been a big fan of beans - cheap, tasty and good for you! I was interested in what they said about a glass of milk being better fro you than a sports energy drink - might start having a glass after my run 🙂

i watched it as well it was intresting espcially about the chocolate not being addictive some people would disagree and unable to live without it im still struggling with chocolate i get so far and i need my choco fix 😱

Thought the most interesting bit was her experiment with eggs - 'proved' it is OK to eat pretty much as many as you like (which for me would be none- yuk- but K would eat them everyday if I'd let her - apparently I should🙄)

Interesting what they said about Salt (whilst talking about crisps) that if you have a lot of potassium rich food it balances out having a little extra salt (I think - I might have to watch that again)

Missed the bit about eggs - sounds good to me as I love boiled eggs and toast soldiers for lunch! 🙂

I was only half-watching about the crisps. I was a former crisp fanatic but weaned myself off them fairly soon after diagnosis once I realised I'd need to inject for them :( As for potassium, I used to use 'Low Salt' which has potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride - hadn't realised it balances out the NaCl. I do remember though that I had to stop the Low Salt when I was put on statins as I think you are supposed to avoid too much potassium when taking them. Since I haven't taken statins for three years I really should go back on the Low Salt! 🙂

Saw that too, was a very good program. Confused with the beens though, I checked a tin and the protein was about a third that of a rump steak, and high carbs for a type 2 at least. Still fancied some on toast after the prog. though.:D

Pleased about the eggs, been having mushroom omelette for lunch, with a pitta in this cold weather, so nice.

Yes, saw that too.
I was very surprised by the chocolate and eggs results. I thought chocolate was addictive and too many eggs were bad for you.

I hate baked beans anyway, so that's irrelevant to me.
Same with tea - don't drink the stuff, but I'll have to remember that a guest might want me to let it stew for 5 minutes instead of 40 seconds 😛

eggs

The British Heart Foundation say you can eat as many as you like as long as you do not add ingrediants like butter or cheese to them. See their website.
They explain about cholestorel and where it comes from etc. My Practice nurse told me I could only eat three eggs a week!!!! and I do not have in any way high cholestorel

I always thought for a long time I was only allowed 3 a week I cant remember if that was cause my GP or my course leader at my X-PERT course told me but now I get through 5-7 a week mostly have eggs scrambled with bacon but on the odd occasion I will stretch to throwing one in an omlette.Same as Monica as regards beans and tea so irrelevent to me also

Yes, I too watched it and i was surprised about the eggs and the milk. I too might drink some milk after my gym workouts but i guess i would have to watch the calories too as i want to lose weight.
