Diagnosis devastation

Isn’t easy to get round

Diabetes is now part of you

Stand on unfamiliar ground

The numbness and confusion

You feel upon day one

Is something that you’ll deal with

As life gets back on song

It takes a little while

To eventually clear your head

You’ll find your way to help each day

From morning until bed

Diabetes is a big thing

Please believe it can be tamed

I’ve called my Condition BERNARD

As it feel less dangerous now it’s named

Don’t worry you have got this

Work with the frown upon your face

Some care, love and understanding

Will help you reach a better place
