Using an audio sample of just six to 10 seconds, along with basic health data like age, sex, height and weight, scientists created an AI model that can determine whether someone is diabetic with almost 90% accuracy.

 
It’s talking about Type 2 only. I do wish journalists would specify that in the headline.
 
It'd be *much* more impressive if the AI could diagnose T2D from video clips of people miming.
 
Sounds like taking a history of age, height, and weight and sex, those results on 90% accuracy seems like a good bet. If someone is 5ft 3" and weighs 12 st and is a sixty year old female, then it is almost a 100% chance that they are Type 2 diabetic.

It's also far cheaper to dip a testing stick in their urine. And more accurate.

That’s actually really interesting. I wouldn’t have thought they could do that.
