Hi All

New to this site found it as a result of xpert site. Just been on a one day xpert course. It was so helpful. It is a shame that more areas do not run this programme. I am certainly better informed but still struggle with foodie things. As I am diet only awaiting a result of HBA1c I hope that my new found knowledge will help to improve things. The Eatwell plate is such a great example of portions etc. i must admit I do get quite down about the diabetes but forums such as this who can support us is such a plus point- Julie

Hi Julie and welcome to the forum,I also went on the xpert course for 6 weeks and like you agree it should be more widely available, have yourself a good browse around and you can ask anything here no question is a silly one .We are a good bunch (honest) 🙂.Your not alone infinding diabetes getting you down quite a few suffer depression from it in here but with the help of family and freinds and places like this many find talking about it a great help x

Welcome Julie,

I see you're in N.Wales. I lived in Colwyn Bay for most of my early years and my Dad is still rattling around there!

I too have been on the 6-day (1 afternoon per day over 6 weeks) Xpert course. I didn't know that they did a 1 day version though, was it a full day?.

Anyhow, I hope that you get to grips with everything and can settle into a routine of control that you are happy with.

Good Luck,

Andy🙂
