Yes I got 1 a few weeks ago this is all new to me as I only got diagnosed 6 weeks ago with type 2Err, palpitations is what I had pre diagnosis arising from too high BG for too long - a sign my heart was struggling to cope. Have you invested in a blood glucose meter yet, Lisa?
My blood sugars have gone down massively since my diabetic nurse put me on 4 metformin a day I'm now inbetween 8 & 9 from being inbetween 12 & 16 but my reading yesterday 2 hours after my tea went to 5.2 which is really low for me as I've never had that reading b4 and I redid it just to make sure that's when I was feeling all sweaty and having palpatationsIf you have your monitor, and if you have not been doing so then it would be a good idea to test before you eat and then 2 hours afterward and note if and when you are getting the unwell feeling. Obviously keep a record of what and what portion size you have had for your meal.
Palpitations are not good and feel unpleasant so get checked out, sometimes can be medication related.
I've been doing a lot better since the diabetic nurse upped my metformin to 4 a day instead of 3 I'm there to see her again on the 6th of July and have a wordHI Lisa
Yes it is normal for blood sugars to begin to drop after food as medication is designed to do this. However the feeling you describe might be those of a low blood sugar and your medication might need a review. it might help for your next Med review to keep a log of how you feel and how often this feeling occurs and when after food.
I’ve personally never had a heart palpitation so can’t comment on that but not sure its caused by diabetes- might be worth getting it checked out.

I'm awaiting an appointment at the lipid clinic as diabetes is in my family and my dad & my brother all ended up on insulin from type 2 my other brother ended up straight on insulin in 40s so don't know yet if I am going to end up in that criteriaThey are one of the possible symptoms of low glucose levels. I do not get the same ones every time, but I have had them before.
I think false hypo symptoms are quite possible with you having been that high then reducing that much. Those levels are something your body will get used and you will soon stop feeling symptoms.
That said, if you are concerned then you should still talk to a doctor in case they are a symptom of something else.
thats why I like these forums, learn something new everyday. Thanks! They are one of the possible symptoms of low glucose levels. I do not get the same ones every time, but I have had them before.
