A diabetic teen was among more than 50 people who joined a 30km paddle around the World Islands in Dubai.
Guy Welchman, 13, who has Type 1 diabetes, told 7DAYS he took part in the event to inspire other diabetic children that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. He said: ?I look at the situation in a positive manner.?
The event, organised by Surf Dubai, is now in its fifth year, and saw stand-up paddleboarders navigate their way around the World Islands off the Dubai coastline on Friday to raise cash and awareness of childhood diabetes.
