I am not sure this is the right section but can somebody tell me how your eyesight is afterwards? Some say there is blurred while others say it is just bright. I am concerned as I have arthritic knees and walk with a cane which makes getting on and off buses and trains difficult. The local hospital does provide transport but I don't like it for a number of reasons.

You can see okay it is just a bit soft focus and you may struggle to read small print. Daylight is a bit too bright so take some sunglasses.

Sunglasses essential, sometimes (but not always) I also have blurred vision and/or a splitting headache. I sometimes feel a bit wobbly afterwards - any chance of a kind friend prepared to pick you up and drive you home, or take you and wait?

I've had annual screening for many years. You MUST take sunglasses with you and you may need to wear them for a few hours. Your vision will be blurred for 4-6 hours or so but walking should be fine.

Definietly worth taking sunglasses. You pupils will just not be able to react as they would normally, so things get a bit blurred and wobbly around the edges.

When I had mine my eyes were blurred for a good few hours. I had to wear my glasses. However it was s sunny day so had to be a bit blurred whilst I walked to town with my sunglasses on. I really should invest in prescription sunglasses.

As others have said take sunglasses and take it carefully. It does wear off in a few hours, maybe go for a coffee in the hospital to give your sight a bit of time to readjust before setting off home.

No matter how cloudy it is before the appointment it’s ALWAYS sunny afterwards!

Take sunglasses, but things should settle back down again after a few hours.
